About Us

How many teams do you have?
We will decide on team make-ups at the completion of try-outs. We welcome boys and girls ages 10-18 at try-outs and will field teams based on the number of athletes in each age group.

What types of players are you looking for?
We are looking for young athletes who love the game and are committed to working hard in the off-season. Coachable athletes who have a desire to improve their skills and knowledge of the game would be great additions to any of our teams. 

How do I register?

Interested athletes can register online via our Athlete Registration Form or at the first day of try-outs. There is no try-out fee and forms will be available at the try-outs. Season fees are due in full at the parent's meeting if your child is selected to play for us.

How long is the season?
Our season generally runs from March to July. Try-out dates are held in February and March.

What is the fee for this season?
2015 season fees are $350.

What does the season fee include?
The season fee covers all uniforms, gym space for practice, team tournament entry fees, association registration fees, coaches' lodging for out of town events, player t-shirt, and player gym bag.

What other costs are associated?
Individual athletes are responsible for travel, lodging, and food for weekend tournaments. Parents will also be responsible for admission into tournaments each weekend that we compete. Nationals will require an additional fee to cover housing and food expenses for the athlete.

Are there any fund-raising events?
We hope to continue to provide high level basketball at a low price. This will require time and cooperation on behalf of the athletes and parents to better our program as a whole. Parents are required to volunteer in the concession stand or at the gate at our host tournaments. Players also sell tickets to and put on a pancake breakfast as a fundraiser. 

There may be weekends that I cannot travel with my athlete to tournaments. Is this ok?
Absolutely. We understand that this can be difficult on parents. Let your athlete's coach know in advance and we will work with you to make plans for the weekend. However, athletes must travel and stay with an adult on out of town trips.

Can I donate to the Carolina Cavaliers?
Yes you can! We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Individuals and companies are welcome to donate any amount. Please e-mail us at cavalierbasketball@carolinacavs.com for payment and tax deduction information.
